Reception and clinic hours
Reception and routine clinic appointments run to the hours below, day by day.

- Complete inability to pass urineAcute urinary retention. A catheter is usually needed, and the sooner the better.
- Severe flank pain with nausea or vomitingPossible obstructing kidney stone. Pain that will not settle needs urgent assessment.
- Heavy or painless blood in the urineVisible bleeding that is heavy, or that appears without pain or infection, needs same-day review.
- Sudden pain or swelling in a testiclePossible testicular torsion. This is a surgical emergency and time matters.
- Fever with flank painPossible infected, obstructed kidney, which can become life-threatening within hours.
- Injury to the kidney, bladder or genitalsBlunt or penetrating trauma needs immediate assessment, even if it looks minor.

Planning your visit
The questions reception is asked most often about coming to the centre.
Do I need an appointment?
Clinics at the centre run by appointment. Book online, or call reception during opening hours. Referrals from a GP or another specialist are welcome.
What should I bring?
Bring photo identification, your referral letter if you have one, a list of the medicines you take with their doses, and any previous scan reports or test results you have been given.
What if I cannot attend?
Call reception as soon as you know. Telling us early leaves the slot free for another patient, and reception can arrange a new time with you.
When is the centre closed?
Any day marked Closed in the table above has no routine reception or clinic hours. If you need care outside those hours, attend an emergency department rather than waiting for the centre to reopen.
